Gudauri Paragliding - Itinerary

10:00Zhinvali Lake

Zhinvali water reservoir, also known as a lake is located on the Georgian Military Highway. Soviets constructed the dam in the 1980s. As Tbilisi was growing rapidly, there was a need of a new water supply. Government decided that the Aragvi Gorge rich with glacier water was the perfect spot.

10:45Ananuri Fortress

Ananuri Fortress is a 17th Century Architectural Ensemble which at the time was one of the strongest fortresses in Georgia. Fortress is located in a 70 km drive from Tbilisi, in the village with the same name – Ananuri.

Location for the complex was chosen because of its strategical importance. This fortress belonged to the local rulers called “Aragvistavi” and was the main stronghold for the family.

13:00Gudauri Friendship Monument

Gudauri Friendship monument is located 120 KM from Tbilisi, on the Georgian Military Highway connecting to Russia. The government of Soviet Union built this monument in order to celebrate 200 years since the treaty of Georgievs signed in 1783.

This panorama is decorated with Soviet Style mosaics depicting Georgian and Russian heroes, farmers, fairy tales and communist symbols. The monument is very vivid and colorful, however the most important part of it’s beauty is its location.

They offered the perfect blend of emotions for travellers on their own as well as a family. Nika was an amazing guide who took us to exclusive locations apart from the ones offered. Not to mention, the driver was really friendly and we felt more like a family. We had opted for additional services like paragliding and airport transfers in which they proved themselves to be systematic (on time arrivals) as well as concerned (offered to stop by for food and other services). Kazbegi Adventure was the best option offered among the other competitors (food with a local family and paragliding). Loved it!! Thank you Irakhli :). A must go for all those who seek what its like to be truly Georgian 🙂

Probably one of the best tour companies ever! Our guide, Irakli, clearly loves his country and also telling people about it. His local and historical knowledge are both really impressive and he was incredibly enthusiastic about the places we were taken to. A very helpful and friendly service with a personal touch and a lasting impression. I would highly recommend Kartveli Tours and will definitely book again when I return to Georgia
