  • Hello! - Gamarjoba! (გამარჯობა)
  • How are you? - Rogor Khar? (როგორ ხარ?)
  • Good, and you? - Kargad, Tavad? (კარგად, თავად?)
  • Thank you - Madloba! (მადლობა!)
  • Please - Tu Sheidzleba (თუ შეიძლება) - Gtkhovt (გთხოვთ)
  • What's your name? - Ra Gkvia? (რა გქვია?)
  • My name is ... - Me Mkvia (მე მქვია)
  • How much? (Price) - Ra Ghirs? (რა ღირს?)

A lot of times when you travel you need go offline, therefore you might need to ask the locals for help or directions. Hence, Below you’ll find words and phrases you might need during your travel around the cities or rural areas of Georgia.

  • Currency Exchange - Valutis Gatsvla (ვალუტის გაცვლა)
  • Bank - Banki (ბანკი)
  • Hospital - Saavadmkofo (საავადმყოფო)
  • Doctor - Ekimi (ექიმი)

Restaurant / Pub

Going to a fancy restaurants or the underground pubs of Tbilisi, before you hit the night scene, it’s important to know a few useful words. Particularly, these few:

  • Wine - Ghvino (ჰვინო)
  • Beer - Ludi (ლუდი)
  • Water - Tskali (წყალი)
  • Cheers! - Gaumardjos! (გაუმარჯოს!)
  • I Want … - Me Minda … (მე მინდა …)
  • Excuse me (call a waiter) - Ukatsravad (უკაცრავად)
  • The Bill, Please - Angarishi, Tu Sheidzleba (ანგარიში, თუ შეიძლება)

Another thing you’ll need for sure is numbers. Counting in Georgian is pretty repetitive so should be easy to memorize.
