Our Wine Tour in Kakheti begins with a stop at a traditional Georgian Bakery – Tone.
Tone is a traditional oven in Georgia. This is how Georgians have made bread for thousands of years. In the small village of Badiauri, we’ll make a stop at one of the bakeries to check out how the Georgian bread is made. Once we see the process, we’ll continue to try the bread with some home-made cheese and of course – Chacha!
Sighnaghi – The city of love. We’ll take a walk through this beautiful 18th century city to explore it’s cozy narrow streets and vivid architecture.
This city is known for the “Great wall of Georgia” – a fortress almost 5 km long! We’ll take a walk on the wall, but no worries – we’re not walking the whole thing 🙂 We’ll enjoy the views of Alazani valley from the ramparts. The brave hearted can also climb one of the towers.
Numisi – a family run winery and a museum. We’ll have a walk through the museum to see how the Georgian traditional wine is made. Next we’ll take a look at vast collection of the family which boasts couple hundred years. For the photo lovers: This place is an Instagram heaven!
Once we’re done exploring the winery, we’ll get to the most important part – tasting the wines and Chacha!
Kindzmarauli Corporation is a winery located in Kvareli, Kakheti. This is a wine factory which produces a high standard of wine and exports it to 19 countries worldwide.
Factory produces wines both with the European and Traditional Georgian methods. During the tour professional guides will show you the whole process of wine-making. After the tour, you’ll have a chance to try some of the award-winning wines produced by this winery.
After the long tour, we’re going to stop in a local family to enjoy a lunch cooked especially for us. There will be lots of authentic Georgian meals and yeah, there will be more wine 🙂
Gremi Fortress is located in the Region of Kakheti, 140 kilometers from Tbilisi. This fortress was a citadel of the medieval city of Gremi.
The first inhabitants of this area lived here in the late bronze age, however the history of Gremi as a city only begins in the XV century. The first King of Kakheti kingdom – Giorgi made it the capital of the region. For 2 centuries, this city was a political, economic, cultural and educational center of Kakheti.
At around 19:30 we’ll return to Tbilisi and our team will deliver you to your hotel.
We did the “Cradle of Wine” tour with Irakli – it was an incredible experience! The guide, design of the tour and the experiences we had meant it was an all-round fantastic day. Irakli is a great guide, very knowledgeable and easy to get on with, his level of English is excellent and shows so much enthusiasm about the tour and about Georgia. The tour itself is very well put together, we got to see lots of different parts of Georgian culture and try lots of Georgian wines and chacha, made by individual families and factories alike. Some of the stops on the tour were very unique – such as stopping by a roadside traditional bakery and at a local family for lunch – things we never would have done on our own so this tour is so much more than someone just showing you around the standard tourist attractions. There was also a great amount of history in the trip. It was definitely the best tour we did and the best day of our trip to Georgia, we had so much fun! I can’t recommend this tour enough!
Если у вас есть желания про Грузию. Они все исполнятся с этим агентством. Страна ,Еда ,Вино ,История ,Обеды в семьях , гостеприимство и искренность!!
1) We had 2 hour tour in old Tbilisi and Irakli made our day. Very explanatory tour with a very friendly and experienced guide. I can highly recommend it.
2) We had a full day tour to Kazbegi and despite the weather had a wonderful experienced thanks to Marta who is very friendly , knowledgeable and fun pretty young lady made our day a lot of fun. Especially we enjoyed local family late lunch which gave us unique experience which we will never forget. Highlight of the trip though Gergeti Trinity Church which has a bumpy road but view worth it all.
3) Another day we had Cradle of Wine tour which basically takes you to east to see ancient wineries and taste different wines with another local family lunch. Along the way there are different stops which you enjoy the view and learn more about culture and history thanks to Beka which answered all our questions about politics, history and basically anything and never complained!
Overall: Small, yet experienced company provides fine tuned professional tours with excellent value of money. I cannot recommend them enough!
My Friend and I did the Cradle of Wine tour and the Kazbegi Adventure Tour.. both were wonderful and fun along with knowledgeable guides. Both tours included home cooked Georgian lunch with a local family, which were the best meals I had in Georgia. Wine and chacha were really good tooooo 🙂
We also very much enjoyed the lovely scenery on the way..
Thank you Irakli & Beka ..
