Our guide will meet you at your hotel and lead you to your car to begin the One day Davit Gareja Tour.
Our day will start by a direct drive to Davit Gareja (Gareji) complex located at the border of Georgia and Azerbaijan. Along the way, we’re going to pass through the remote village of Udabno and also make couple of stops for the stunning views.
Once we reach the Davit Gareja, we will visit the currently functioning Lavra Monastery of Father Davit. Here you’re going to find about the history of the foundation and tough periods of this monastery throughout the centuries. Davit Gareja has been functioning here since 6th century! We’re also going to take a look at the grave of Father Davit and hear about his miraculous stone.
After exploring the functioning part of the monastery, we’re going to hike over the ridge dividing Georgia and Azerbaijan to visit Bertubani. It was here, where the school of Georgia Fresco painting was begun. We’re going to take a look at amazing murals dating back as far as thousand years!
Afterwards we descend back to the Georgian Territory and visit a local family for a tasty lunch. Note that it’s a late lunch, around 16:00. Packing snacks is recommended.
Finally, We’ll head back to Tbilisi and our driver will drop you off at your hotel.

Me and my dad took the Davit Gareja tour all inclusive package to visit this amazing monastery. Everything was well planned, guide was very knowledgeable.
P.S: Lunch at the family was a great touch (And a reward after the long hike)
